The Nerdery Evolves Its Brand, Nerds Redesign Their Own Website

Four-week Sprint Completed for Minimum Viable Software Product

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - February 01, 2016) - The Nerdery today launched a new website. OK, that's not exactly news for a custom software design and development company -- but this time The Nerdery created a website and revealed a brand evolution, as their own client.

The Nerdery's brand evolution includes a refined logo and heightened focus on the core services of mobile applications, web applications, websites, systems integration and digital consulting. Their online makeover happened over a stealth four-week sprint.

"The brand and company has evolved, but our vision to be the best place in the world for Nerds to work will remain the same," said Nerdery CEO Tom O'Neill. "Our new website does a better job at conveying the power of our vision statement -- and how passionate Nerds make a real difference for our clients and their businesses."

"Our objective for The Nerdery's updated brand positioning, visual identity and website was to better reflect the company we are today," said Kristi Gloppen, VP of Marketing at The Nerdery. "We felt it important to evolve in a way that honors our history and strong existing brand. We focused on refining versus reinventing to ensure our new, more modern look and feel reflects the kind of deep and meaningful engagements our Nerds love. We're more than a typical software company and wanted to convey how our Nerds differentiate us."

"Our old website did not convey the message that we've moved on from making basic websites to collaborating with companies to resolve complex business problems," said Nerdery Web Marketing Technology Manager Matt Tonak.

After spirited discussion, Craft was chosen as the website's content management system (CMS). Designed and developed by some of The Nerdery's top technical staff, it was a company priority -- even a website requirement -- to make content updates simple for less-technical marketing staff to maintain and expand the website moving forward.

"Some thought I was crazy when I said we could launch a new website in four weeks," said Tonak. "But we took our own advice in launching an MVP -- minimum viable product -- version of the site like we frequently advise clients to do in order to get their software product quickly to market. We'll continue to iterate and expand features, content and functionality -- but wanted to show what's possible with a pragmatic scope and a team empowered to push boundaries."

"As our own internal client, I'm proud that our team took this opportunity to practice what we preach," said O'Neill."
