Students Will Use ThinkQuest Learning Platform to Collaborate on Biodiversity Initiative

  • The Oracle Education Foundation (OEF) has partnered with the World Wildlife Fund Italy (WWF) to launch the Biodiversity Experiences Network, an innovative online learning initiative for students and teachers. WWF is the world's leading conservation organization.

  • The initiative will leverage ThinkQuest, OEF's online learning platform. ThinkQuest helps students develop important 21st century skills, including critical thinking, communication, and technology skills.

  • Participating students will observe local biodiversity and use ThinkQuest to create multimedia projects that present their solutions for protecting the ecosystem.

  • Representatives from WWF Italy and conservation experts will select the best projects and award students with trips to WWF educational programs and with laptops.

  • Students who create English-language projects will also be eligible to participate in the ThinkQuest International Competition 2011 and receive additional prizes, including a trip to ThinkQuest Live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
