BOULDER, CO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 18, 2007 -- The Organic Center announced today the
resignation of its current chief executive officer, R. Mark Davis, who will
step down from the position to pursue other opportunities effective May 1.
"During Mark's tenure, The Organic Center has led the charge in providing
scientific research showing the clear benefits of organic agriculture to
our health and that of the environment," says Anthony Zolezzi, chairman of
the board of The Organic Center. "We are very grateful to Mark for his
many contributions and wish him continued success."
Steven Hoffman will serve as interim executive director for The Organic
Center until a search for a new executive director is complete. Hoffman
was part of the original task force team responsible for launching The
Organic Center in 2002. He has been at the forefront of the LOHAS movement
(Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) since its inception and has

industry business publications and conferences, the LOHAS Journal and
Natural Business.
"We are fortunate to have Steven step into the position," says Walter Robb,
co-president and chief operating officer of Whole Foods Market and board
member of The Organic Center. "He will help keep The Organic Center at the
forefront of its mission; to generate credible scientific research, proving
the benefits of organic and communicating those benefits to consumers."
Hoffman also serves on the board of directors of the Naturally Boulder Task
Force to promote the growth of natural and organic products and is the
former president of CORE, Colorado's leading sustainable business
association. Hoffman is a former agricultural extension agent, former
Peace Corps volunteer and received an M.S. degree in agriculture from
Pennsylvania State University.
