Company Achieves Tremendous Success as It Brings New Innovation to How Companies Hire Top Talent

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - Aug 2, 2016) - Shaker, the market leader in engaging, realistic job previews and custom simulations for pre-employment testing, today announced results of its highly successful performance in the first half of 2016. During this time, the company, attracted new business from a range of industries, welcomed several new employees, expanded its network of recruiting technology partners, and continued to bring its advanced assessment solutions and thought leadership to new audiences.

"Shaker has achieved enormous growth recently, having doubled the size of our company both in terms of employees and revenue over the past three years. Our performance in the first half of 2016 was no exception as we continued to break our own growth records," said Joseph P. Murphy, Shaker's executive vice president. "As hiring continues to become more competitive, organizations need the solutions that can improve the candidate experience and enable recruiters to make more informed decisions faster. To that end, we remain committed to introducing new innovations in the assessment space and maintaining our position as the assessment solutions provider of choice for more organizations seeking to transform how they hire."

Welcoming New Clients

Since January 2016, Shaker has launched a record number of new projects with clients that want to improve quality of hire with Virtual Job Tryout® technology. The company's newest clients represent many leading brands in a range of industries, including a leading provider of mortgage services, a sporting goods retailer, a global manufacturer of consumer goods, a global insurance company and two leading medical technology companies.

Expanded Functionality

Key to Shaker's strong client growth is the company's ability to continually enhance and improve its Virtual Job Tryout platform, including the introduction of several new assessment interfaces and exercise types to help companies get a more comprehensive understanding of their candidates. For instance, Shaker further enhanced its mobile interface, enabling its clients' candidates to complete assessment activities on their mobile devices, while providing the same level of measurement rigor for which Shaker's solutions are well known.

Shaker has also expanded its integration network, already having one of the highest number of integrations with leading applicant tracking system (ATS) providers. While the company is already integrated with Oracle Taleo and IBM Kenexa BrassRing and many others, with its new batch of clients, Shaker's solutions now integrate with the recruiting module of Workday.

In addition, Shaker experienced significant new revenue from new products in its Standard Virtual Job Tryout offering, a ready-to-use pre-employment assessment for specific job types. Shaker's Standard VJT assessments are now available for positions including:

Team Growth

Fueling Shaker's ability to attract new clients and expand its product functionality is robust internal growth. In the first half of 2016, the company added key staff to its Design-Build and Insights teams, giving it one of the largest teams of Ph.D. level Industrial-Organizational (I-O) psychologists dedicated to selection science and talent analytics. New hires welcomed in this period include associate Ashlie Plants and analyst Andrew Barsa. Shaker also invested heavily in its exclusively in-house technology team and expanded its internship program, helping it learn from great young minds while shaping the next generation of assessment science leaders.

Increasing Industry Contributions

In the first six months of 2016, Shaker expanded its industry presence, sharing its thought leadership at numerous events. These include presenting 11 unique sessions at the 2016 SIOP Annual Conference, leading a session at HR West 2016 and hosting webinars with the Talent Board and HR.com. Shaker also expanded its relationship with Talent Board and increased its support of the organization's Candidate Experience (CandE) Awards. Not only is Shaker a Global Platinum sponsor of the 2016 program, but Joseph P. Murphy was also appointed to the board of directors of Talent Board.

Shaker also introduced Shaker University, a series of online video tutorials helping users get the most from Virtual Job Tryout and ensure successful change management among their recruiting teams. Additionally, the company launched its bi-monthly newsletter, sharing its latest updates and insights with the larger community.

Looking Forward

"Since our inception nearly 15 years ago, Shaker has continually introduced new assessment tools that help companies take an evidence-based approach to improve hiring, while providing job seekers with an engaging candidate experience," said Murphy. "Our impressive results in the first half of 2016 underscore the growing market demand and acceptance of our recruiting technology. Based upon the number of new project RFPs we have been invited to participate in, we anticipate ongoing growth and momentum throughout the rest of the year."
