The Peaceful Landscapes of Renee Roy

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - May 9, 2011) - From May 11 to June 22, the Peter B. Yeomans Cultural Centre (1401 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval) will host the exhibition of Montreal painter Renée Roy. The vernissage will take place Sunday, May 15 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Roy has always been fascinated by the special beauty of northern landscapes, their simplicity, their total lack of artifice and the poetry emanating from them. Completely captivated by them, they became her primary source of inspiration. By emphasizing the horizontal composition of the painting, she accentuates the quiet and endless character of landscapes. The exhibition will present recent works by the artist.

Renée Roy holds a BA in Arts and Communications from Université de Montréal and a Certificate in Visual Arts from Université du Québec à Montréal. Participating in several solo and group exhibitions, her works have rapidly attracted interest and can be seen in private collections in Canada, U.S. and Europe.
