The Prayer Palace Church Responds to Crisis in Haiti

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 22, 2010) - As international aid agencies and first responders tend to the immediate needs of the people of Haiti, The Prayer Palace Church of Toronto, a multinational congregation, is preparing their own humanitarian relief effort.
Assistant Pastor, Tom Melnichuk is overseeing The Prayer Palace's relief activities.

"We're preparing for a late February-early March departure to Haiti," says Tom. "Our efforts are focused on looking past the immediate crisis and helping the people of Haiti recover and rebuild."

Churches have crumbled, homes caved in and human lives have been lost in the recent Haiti earthquake disaster. The Prayer Palace's relief efforts will provide supplies such as tents, food, water, sleeping bags and more.

"Being a church, we also believe that faith will be an important factor in helping Haiti recover," says Tom. "That's why we'll be helping to reconstruct churches with our efforts as well."

Donations are vital to the relief effort. Please visit for more information on how to get involved.

"It's important that we pray for the people of Haiti," says Tom. "But it's also important to act."
