The Quebec Mineral Exploration Association Unveils 2012 Recognition Award


QUÉBEC CITY, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 22, 2012) - The Quebec Mineral Exploration Association (AEMQ) held its annual recognition awards ceremony during the Quebec mining Exploration convention, which took place from November 19th to 22th. The awards emphasize the excellence, dynamism and entrepreneurship of a service organization or individual significantly contributing to the growth of the mining industry in the province of Quebec.

The recipients are:

Prospector of the Year Award 2012
Northern Superior Resources for the "Croteau Est" Project
This award is given to highlight the importance of a new discovery that produced a significant ripple effect on exploration activities with regards to both the property itself and the surrounding area.
Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2012
Canada Lithium Corporation for the Quebec Lithium project
This award highlights the work of a contractor or team of contractors whose company has made significant progress over the past year. This progress can be related to the development of a specific project, to all company activities or the development of a mining project towards its phase of production.
Aboriginal Developer Award 2012
Mr. Jim Macleod
This award highlights the word of an individual or an aboriginal organization that has contributed to the development of services or mineral exploration companies or has significantly contributed to the mining industry.
IAMGOLD Award - Service company of the Year 2012
Geotic Inc.
This award highlights the work of a service company that, through the development and expansion of its services, has significantly contributed to the development of mineral exploration in Quebec or elsewhere.
E3 Plus Award 2012
Stornoway Diamond Corporation Inc.
This award recognizes a company for its high level of environmental and social responsibility, and its compliance with the best practices outlined in the e3 online Toolkit.
Nicolas Denys Medal 2012
Mr. Marc Bouchard
This award highlights the career of a prospector who, through many years of hard work, has significantly contributed to the development
Hector-Authier Award 2012
Mr. Mac Watson,
This award recognizes the career of an individual who, through many years of hard work, has significantly contributed to the development of mining entrepreneurship in Quebec.
Jean-Descarreaux Award 2012
Mr. Charles Maurice
This award highlights the work of a contractor or team of contractors whose company has made significant progress over the past year. This progress can be related to the development of a specific project, to all company activities or the development of a mining project towards its phase of production.
Economic Actor in mineral exploration Award 2012
Mr. Gaetan Morin
This award is given to an individual or an organization of the business and/or finance and/or law domain that has significantly contributed to the mineral exploration industry.

About the Québec Mineral Exploration Association (AEMQ)

The Québec Mineral Exploration Association (AEMQ) is a non-profit professional and industry association incorporated under Part III of the Companies Act. The AEMQ represents the key stakeholders involved in the field of mining exploration in Québec. The AEMQ was founded in 1975 to reflect the will of mineral explorationists in Québec (prospectors, geologists, geophysicists, contractors, developers, exploration managers) to stimulate exploration and foster the development of mining entrepreneurship in Québec.
