TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - August 18, 2016) - The Reading Foundation, a private clinic that diagnoses and treats difficulties in reading, writing, spelling, math and comprehension, will be opening their first Toronto location on Tuesday, September 6th. Successfully operating clinics in Calgary and Vancouver for over 25 years, The Reading Foundation offers year-round intensive remedial and enrichment programs in all core literacy areas and has helped thousands of students from across North America with severe learning problems. The new clinic will be centrally located at 101, 124 Merton Street.
The first clinic of its kind to open in Canada, The Reading Foundation was founded in 1990 by Dr. Steve Truch, an Educational Psychologist specializing in learning and learning disabilities. The clinic's programs are different from traditional schooling and tutoring in that they are very specialized and process-oriented, offering students customizable one-to-one programs. The Reading Foundation's approach focuses on specific learning issues, one at a time, using research-based programs that address the underlying process affecting learning.
"Through our specialized approach, The Reading Foundation has successfully helped thousands of students from across North America with severe reading, writing, math, and other learning problems. My team and I have developed and packaged research-based programs that are interesting and exciting for students. We're thrilled to be bringing these programs to Toronto with the opening of our new clinic," says Dr. Steve Truch, Founder, The Reading Foundation.
The clinic's programs follow an immersion model, which engages students in one-to-one instruction with trained specialists. The first step in The Reading Foundation's process is to carry out individual assessments. This helps to identify the nature and extent of the student's learning needs. Following the assessment, a recommendation is made as to what program or combination of programs will best benefit the student.
"The Reading Foundation's Toronto clinic will bring a new offering to the area. The depth of clinical experience at The Reading Foundation gives it a unique standing among clinics of its kind anywhere in North America," says Kama Truch, Director, The Reading Foundation Toronto. "The clinic offers programs for people of all ages and learning levels and is very flexible with scheduling, allowing students to attend on either an intensive or part time basis."
The clinic offers enrichment programs for students who need a little something extra in order to perform to their full potential and remedial programs for those needing supplementary learning support as well as individuals who have been diagnosed with reading and learning disabilities, ADD and ADHD, and speech and language disabilities.
The Toronto clinic will be hosting a Grand Opening event on Wednesday, September 28th at 7 pm. Dr. Steve Truch will be onsite for an open Q&A session and to share additional information on The Reading Foundation's programs.
