The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas Introduces After Dark Eco-Adventures

Luxury Resort Offers Unique Experiences for Families Including Night Snorkel and Stargazing

ST. THOMAS, US VIRGIN ISLANDS--(Marketwired - Apr 16, 2015) - This summer, prepare for more than just fun in the sun. As the days get longer, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas announces three new, unique adventures to keep the fun going long after the sun goes down. Designed to introduce resort guests to the island environment after nightfall, nighttime explorations are poised to create lasting memories for both children and their families for years to come. Each activity is led by a naturalist from Ambassadors of the Environment, the luxury resort's eco-cultural program designed by famed environmentalist Jean-Michel Cousteau, offering adventures and activities aimed at teaching the distinctive characteristics of the Virgin Islands in an exciting and memorable way.

New after dark adventures at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas include:

Nightlife on the Reef Guided Snorkel
With dive lights, the curious and adventurous are led on an excursion of a lifetime to discover the fascinating world of the reef at night, when nocturnal marine life comes out to play. The experience ends with snacks and a hot chocolate warm-up.

Pictures in the Sky
Guest of all ages are welcome for an evening of discovering constellations in the vast Caribbean night sky and learning the history, myths and legends surrounding these magnificent pictures in the sky. A closer look through the telescope will reveal glowing balls of gas and the planets that wander among them.

Creatures of the Night
This exciting adventure invites guests to experience the heightened sensory awareness that comes from being outdoors at night. Guests can watch and learn how other species far surpass our limited abilities to function in the darkness.

Ambassadors of the Environment also offers various daytime programs for kids and adults, as well as daily 30-minute complimentary programs. Favorites include "Take Pictures, Leave Bubbles: lessons in underwater photography," a guided kayak and snorkel around St. John, feeding the family resort's resident iguanas and "Eco Chefs," where kids learn to cook in a solar oven with organic ingredients grown on the resort grounds.
