The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo Emerges From Multi-Phase Transformation

Tokyo's Premier Luxury Hotel Debuts Sleek, Modern Japanese Guest Rooms and Club Lounge, Creating a Sense of Place in the Heart of the Cosmopolitan City

TOKYO, JAPAN--(Marketwired - Sep 14, 2015) - After much anticipation, The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo has completed its multi-phase transformation. The luxury hotel is located 45 floors up in Tokyo's tallest building, Midtown Tower, and overlooks the vibrant Roppongi District, making this a destination that one will not want to miss. Led by distinguished Asia-based DESIGN STUDIO SPIN, the beauty of Japanese culture and landscape has been infused in the design, with the scent of the west blending seamlessly with the east.

Drawing inspiration from the stunning skyline views of the city, Japanese intricacies and natural elements, the Roppongi hotel's guest rooms, inclusive of 36 suites, have been contemporized in dark shades of greys, purple, and red to reflect Japanese aesthetic, while furnishings pay homage to exquisite Japanese patterns. These luxury accommodations are truly unique; some wallpapers resemble imaginary flora called 'So-so-ge' that are specially given to Buddha, while others feature a kimono belt to carpet design representing bamboos. These delightful touches illustrate the remarkable and diverse beauty of Japan, while whimsical artwork nods to the hotel's raising heights in the sky.

The Club Lounge embodies a luxurious 'residence,' featuring four distinctly unique spaces -- reception, garden terrace, dining room, and library lounge -- each created with a different atmosphere for morning, day, and evening. The elements in these spaces evoke themes from the outdoors, and create a sense of place and juxtaposition between the east and west: The carpet design is inspired from Japanese stone pavement, while the fans resemble the surrounding area and nearby Hinoki park. Furthermore, the wallpaper features scattered silver leaves, representing haze.

"We are delighted to usher in the next chapter of this distinctive hotel," says Vice President and General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, Mr. John Rolfs. "Now more than ever, the global traveler is seeking a true sense of connection to the destination they are traveling and we look forward to welcoming guests to rediscover our hotel, while continuing to experience the iconic service that is synonymous with The Ritz-Carlton."

The new guest rooms and Club Lounge complete the luxury hotel's multi-phase transformation that began with the re-opening of its signature restaurant, Hinokizaka, in December 2014, along with the unveiling of The Lobby Lounge & Bar.

To commemorate the new era of luxury, The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo has unveiled 'The Elevated Luxury Package,' dedicated to inspire meaningful journeys for their guests. The package includes luxury overnight accommodations including VIP amenities in the refined suites, exclusive access to the rejuvenated Club Lounge, reinvigorating spa treatment at The Ritz-Carlton Spa by the newly introduced Sodashi -- offering the purest skincare range in the world, and a specially crafted 'Hanayagi' course in the newly transformed Hinokizaka.

'The Elevated Luxury Package' is available beginning September 15, 2015 and rates start at JPY 293,000++/room/night. For bookings and more information on The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, please visit www.ritzcarlton.com/Tokyo.
