CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 16, 2010) - The Rocky Mountain Rail Society would like to invite you to celebrate July 1, Canada Day, with us inStettler, AB. Join Heritage Steam Locomotive 6060 as she pulls the Alberta Prairie Railway Excursions train from Stettler to Big Valley, AB.

The Rocky Mountain Rail Society is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to the preservation and operation of Canadian National Railway steam locomotive 6060, "The Spirit of Alberta". Alberta Prairie Railway Excursions has been kind enough to provide the Society with facilities to store, maintain and operate the locomotive. It is the aim of the society to ensure that Canada's largest working steam locomotive remains in full and complete operating condition for the enjoyment of the citizens of Alberta and all people with an interest in steam locomotives. As custodians of this beautiful heritage steam locomotive, the members of the Rocky Mountain Rail Society are dedicated to providing opportunities for people to enjoy seeing 6060 at work.

The flags will be flying and our locomotive will be dressed for the occasion. Join us in celebrating Canada's birthday. We will have our display booth set up and be providing speeder rides on the Big Valley siding.
