OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 1, 2014) - The Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Canada is introducing changes to its current visa processing policy concerning Canadian passport holders. In recognition of the positive measures introduced by the Canadian embassy to speed the process of issuing visas for Saudi citizens (visit and tourist visas), the Embassy has received a note from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs addressed to all its missions abroad that the 10 day waiting period imposed on Canadian passport holders is no longer applicable, effective immediately.
This encouraging and good-willed initiative is aimed at removing all hurdles that delay the issuing of visas for Canadian citizens, and that, mindful of speeding and encouraging visits between the two sides whether on a government or personal level, or for individuals, which will in turn enhance the economic and cultural bonds between the two countries.
It is hoped that this initiative to waive the waiting period for Canadian passports at the embassy in Ottawa will reflect positively on the measures that the Canadian government will implement in regards to shortening the delay in issuing study permits for Saudi students as well as improving the visa process, since the majority of Saudi students are still suffering from delays in having their visas issued at the Canadian embassy in Riyadh. This delay affects their studies at reputable Canadian colleges, universities and hospitals around the country as well as their commitments towards their career objectives.
The embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would like to assure its citizens and those of the hosting country that it will take all necessary measures to answer their concerns and continue its relentless effort to strengthen the friendly relations that bind the two countries.
