'The Sandman' Under the Rain Theaters in Brazil

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 16, 2008) - Moviemobz, the leading distribution company to program titles in movie theatres equipped with the digital projection technology supplied by Rain Network, acquired theatrical rights for Brazil of José Manuel González' "El Hombre de Arena" (The Sandman). Release in Brazilian arthouses is expected in 6 months. A Premium Pay TV run in Cine Canal is scheduled for June 2009. The deal was negotiated by Movie Avenue International's Agent, TV distributor Lydia Y. Segundo, on behalf of the producers, and Bianca Balassiano, Operations Coordinator, Clarisse Goulart, Acquisitions Head of Moviemobz on behalf of Marco Aurelio Marcondes, Managing Director Latin America, and Fabio Lima founder CEO of Moviemobz/Rain Network.

The romantic drama depicting the imprisonment of society's undesirables in psychiatric hospitals under the Franco regime, generated buzz and critics in the festival circuit for its visual quality and strikingly emotional scenes, receiving the 2007 Audience Prize, Film by the Sea International Festival, Netherlands; Best Film, Operas Primas Tudela, Spain and Official Selections by the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, Florida; Festival Málaga, Morocco; the Philadelphia Film Festival 2008. The performances by Maria Valverde (Goya Award "La Flaqueza del Bolchevique"), Hugo Silva ("Los Hombres de Paco"), Alberto Jimenez ("Alejandro Aménabar's Sea Inside") and Samuel LeBihan ("The Bridge of San Luis Rey") earned accolades including best supporting actor "India Catalina" to LeBihan by the Cartagena 48th Festival Internacional.
