DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - Sep 6, 2011) - The competition is fierce at Spicy Pickle® Sandwich Company (OTCQB: SPKL) (PINKSHEETS: SPKL), a Denver-based restaurant chain, as the search for the best name for its signature (and currently nameless) pickle mascot continues. From now until September 15, 2011, the fate of the official Spicy Pickle icon is in hands of contestants from all around the country. The race is on!

To participate in "Our Pickle is Nameless, Name the Pickle" contest, guests can submit their most witty, creative and outrageous ideas in any of the participating Spicy Pickle restaurant locations by completing an official entry form and placing it into a designated drop box. Guests can also enter their favorite names by submitting their idea via e-mail ( or "snail mail."

The official Spicy Pickle judges have received thousands of entries from all over the country and have reason to believe that Americans love their P's! Here's a sample: Picante, Preston, Percival, Paulie, Pablo, Puck, Pickled Pete, Patty, Piccolo, Piper, Pasquale, Picasso, Polly, Paul and of course, Pistol!

So far, the company's home state of Colorado has submitted the largest number of entries, followed by Las Vegas, where Spicy Pickle opened a new restaurant in August. The newest nosh-house in Minot, North Dakota is next in line.

"Keep those ideas coming," says Stephanie Mehta, Director of Operations at Spicy Pickle. "It's not over 'till it's over." An esteemed panel of pickle experts will judge all entries. The name for the new Spicy Pickle mascot will be selected on or around September 16th and will be announced during the private Sandwich Soiree Parties to be held in each store on September 21st.

The individual submitting the winning name will be given the official coveted title of "Grand Pickle VIP" and will receive an all-inclusive Pickle Party for 20 to celebrate with his or her closest friends.

For a truly inspirational experience, guests are encouraged to come into the nearest Spicy Pickle location and sample one of its famous specialty pickles with the purchase of any whole sandwich or panini.
