The Search Is on for the Next Great Rock Journalist

BigString, Documentary Channel and Ticketmaster's LiveDaily Host Online Competition for Music Fans Across the Globe With Virgin Festival By Virgin Mobile

NEW YORK, NY and WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA--(Marketwire - July 9, 2007) - Ticketmaster's LiveDaily music news site (www.livedaily.com), BigString Corporation (OTCBB: BSGC), which offers a free email service that allows senders to recall, destroy or change emails, Documentary Channel, and the Virgin Festival By Virgin Mobile have joined forces in search of the next Great Rock Journalist. Beginning Thursday, June 28, aspiring writers, students, music fans and others hoping to jump start their journalism careers may submit a self-penned music-related feature article, album or concert review, interview with a musical act, etc. via email to LiveDaily@BigString.com.

Editors from LiveDaily and Documentary Channel will select three finalists based on originality, sophistication of thought, clarity, style and more. The three finalists will receive an iPod Nano and a music documentary pack from Documentary Channel and will have their entry articles published on LiveDaily.com. One of the finalists will be selected as the grand prize winner and will be sent on an all-expenses-paid two-day journalist assignment to cover the 2007 Virgin Festival By Virgin Mobile in Baltimore featuring The Police, The Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys and other headline acts. The grand prize winner will receive press credentials and a photo pass to attend the festival and conduct interviews with select performers. The grand prize winner's articles and photographs will be published on LiveDaily.com and in the Documentary Channel's 'Sound Check' web page, where it will help kick off the channel's new music documentary block of the same name. Documentary Channel's 'Sound Check' will launch on Friday, July 6 at 10 pm EDT and continue every Friday night starting at 10 pm EDT.

"LiveDaily is dedicated to music and music fans," said Richard Tafoya, General Manager for LiveDaily.com. "This contest is an opportunity for us to inspire and recognize budding rock writers by giving them access to a significant musical event and exposing their writing to a global audience."

"Through our promotional alliance with these influential brands, Ticketmaster, Documentary Channel, and Virgin Festival By Virgin Mobile, we have an excellent opportunity to broaden our user base by introducing our email service and its unique functionalities to our target audience," said Darin Myman, President and CEO of BigString. "We are also excited to be saying 'thank you' to those users who are music fans and dream one day of becoming the next great Cameron Crowe."

"With the launch of 'Sound Check' in July, our exciting new showcase for music docs, we couldn't be more thrilled to align with Virgin Festival By Virgin Mobile, BigString and Ticketmaster's LiveDaily, in creating this contest," says Kate Pearson, DOC senior vice president of programming. "We're looking forward to judging the entries and getting a sneak peek at some of the future rock journalists out there."

Submissions must be 500-words or less, self-written, and previously unpublished. All submissions must be sent from a BigString.com email account to LiveDaily@BigString.com and received by July 26, 2007. Finalists will be notified on Monday, July 30th. All entrants will receive a free BigString email account which enables users to remotely erase or modify emails sent to any recipient; designate emails to self-destruct (a la "Mission Impossible"), be non-forwardable, non-printable and non-savable; or send up to a 10 minute embedded video email.
