The Senators In Your Community From April 3 to April 9

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 3, 2009) - The Ottawa Senators' year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club's community schedule from Friday, April 3, to Thursday, April 9.

Spartacat appearances

Spartacat, the Senators' ambassador of fun, will visit Rexall/Pharma Plus (1615 Orleans Boulevard, Orleans, Ont., and 700 March Road, Kanata, Ont.) on Friday, April 3, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 5 from 11 a.m. until noon, respectively. Sparty will also visit the Walmart (3900 Innes Road, Orleans, Ont.) on Saturday, April 4, from noon until 1 p.m. and will be at the Ottawa Year-End Hockey Tournament at the Jim Durrell Complex (1265 Walkley Road, Ottawa) on Sunday, April 5, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

DRUMS, an evening of fine dining, wine and entertainment with a South African flare, is dedicating this year's event to the Sens Foundation's commitment to support two Ottawa residential youth treatment centres, and school-based education and prevention programs. Senators president and chief executive officer Roy Mlakar, chief operating officer Cyril Leeder and Sens Foundation president Danielle Robinson will attend the evening's festivities while Senators Pascal Leclaire and Chris Phillips, along with his wife, Erin, will join the group for a portion of the evening.

Minor hockey intermission activities

On Saturday, April 4, players from the Leitrim Minor Hockey Association will take part in Timbits Hockey, an on-ice activity at Scotiabank Place during the first intermission of the Senators' home game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

On Thursday, April 9, players from the Huskies de Collines de l'Outaouais and Leitrim minor hockey associations will take part in the GM Breakaway Relay on ice at Scotiabank Place during the first intermission of the Senators' home game against the New Jersey Devils.

Sens Gameday Experience presented by Esso

Date: Saturday, April 4

Location: Scotiabank Place

Time: 10 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.

Fans and minor hockey teams from across the Ottawa-Gatineau area can visit Scotiabank Place and watch the Ottawa Senators' pre-game skate. Fanscan watch the Senators coaching staff put players through their paces in an assortment of high-energy drills, as well as work on their individual skills.
