The Senators in Your Community From Dec. 15 to Dec. 21

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 15, 2006) - The Ottawa Senators' year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues this month. The following is a look at the club's community schedule from Friday, Dec. 15, to Thursday, Dec. 21.

Sparty visits Scotiabank Read to Succeed winning classes

Scotiabank Read to Succeed is a literacy initiative presented free of charge by the Ottawa Senators to assist elementary school teachers in motivating their students to read on a daily basis through incentives and rewards. Each month registered classes that reach their reading goals are entered into a draw to win one of six Sparty Parties, which includes a classroom visit from Sparty, pizza courtesy of Pizza Pizza and juice courtesy of Coca Cola. Teachers interested in registering their classes for Scotiabank Read to Succeed or any other Sens@School program can do so by visiting the Senators website at www.ottawasenators.com.

This week two lucky classes will host a Sparty Party won through the Scotiabank Read to Succeed Program.
