The Senators in Your Community From Dec. 4 to Dec. 10

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 4, 2009) - The Ottawa Senators' year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club's community schedule from Friday, Dec. 4, to Thursday, Dec. 10.

Spartacat appearances

Spartacat, the Senators' ambassador of fun, will be visiting Metro (375 Daniel St., Arnprior, Ont.) from noon to 1 p.m on Saturday, Dec. 5. Spartacat will join Santa to assist in the Help Santa Toy Parade, which starts at 6 p.m. at the War Museum and winds up at City Hall. Spartacat will also make an appearance at Senators owner Eugene Melnyk's Skate for Kids (Scotiabank Place) on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to noon.

Senators' leaders in the community

Senators president Cyril Leeder will be attending the 40th anniversary dinner on Dec. 7, in celebration of Marianne Wilkinson's first electoral win. Wilkinson, a current City of Ottawa councillor representing Kanata North, was the first woman to be elected to the then-March Township council. The event will start at 5:30 p.m., with dinner commencing at 6:30 p.m. at the Brookstreet Hotel.

9th edition of the 24h of Tremblant

The ninth edition of the 24h of Tremblant is set for Dec. 11-13. Senators defenceman Chris Phillips, his wife Erin, Young Sensations and other event ambassadors will be selling limited edition 24h Tremblant toques during the Dec. 8 Senators game vs. Montreal at Scotiabank Place. These toques make great stocking stuffers and will be available at all in-arena Sens Stores, directly from Team Phillips captain Erin Phillips and others at Gate 2, as well as inside the arena behind sections 101 and 201 for the low price of $20. Get yours and support a great cause.
