The Senators In Your Community From Feb. 13 to Feb. 19

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 13, 2009) - The Ottawa Senators' year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club's community schedule from Friday, Feb. 13, to Thursday, Feb. 19.

Spartacat appearances

Spartacat, the Senators' ambassador of fun, will visit the Loeb Chapman Mills Market (3201 Strandherd, Nepean, Ont.) on Friday, Feb. 13, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the WalMart Kanata (500 Earl Grey Drive, Kanata, Ont.) on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 11 a.m. until noon.

Scotiabank Place hosts Kanata Cyclones "Future Team Canada"

On Monday, Feb. 16, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m., Scotiabank Place will play host to the Kanata Cyclones peewee minor hockey team. The Cyclones were recently recognized by Hockey Canada and the Wayne Gretzky Foundation as this year's Ottawa District Hockey Association's "Future Team Canada," which honours hockey teams across the nationfor the amount of heart they show as opposed to the number of games they win. The Cyclones donated their $1,999 cash award to the Capital City Condors, a new organization located in Ottawa's west end that provides youth with developmental (mental or physical) disabilities with an opportunity to play hockey. Both the Cyclones and Condors will take to Scotiabank Place ice on Monday.

Minor hockey intermission activities

On Thursday, Feb. 19, players from the Carleton Place Minor Hockey Association will take part in the GM Breakaway Relay, an on-ice activity at Scotiabank Place during the first intermission of the Ottawa Senators home game against the Vancouver Canucks.

Please contact the Ottawa Senators communications department prior to your visit at any of our community events.
