The Senators In Your Community From Sept. 12 to Sept. 18

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 12, 2008) - The Ottawa Senators' year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues this month. The following is a look at the club's community schedule from Friday, Sept. 12, to Thursday, Sept. 18.

The Direct Energy Power Patrol and Spartacat visit Sport Chek and McDonald's

The Direct Energy Power Patrol and Spartacat will visit the Sport Chek location at Place d'Orleans (110 Place d'Orleans Drive) on Saturday, Sept. 13, from noon until 1 p.m. Later that day, the power patrol and Sparty visit the Sport Chek at Kanata Centrum (785 Kanata Ave.) from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

On Friday, Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. to noon, the power patrol and Spartacat will visit the McDonald's restaurant at 1850 Baseline Road before stopping by the Carling Ave. McDonald's (1880 Carling Avenue) from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Spartacat visits participants of the Terry Fox Run in Kanata

Spartacat, the Senators' ambassador of fun, will be on hand to meet with participants and show his support for what is the largest single-day cancer fundraiser in the world, the Terry Fox Run, on Sunday, Sept. 14. Sparty will be on hand from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Canadian Health and Squash Club (200 Terence Matthews Crescent).

T.E.A.M. Hockey Country host minor hockey intermission on Sept. 20

On Saturday, Sept. 20, players from the Ottawa West Golden Knights major atom team will take part in an on-ice activity at Scotiabank Place. The players will compete in a puck-control relay race taking place during the first intermission of the Senators' first home pre-season game against the New York Rangers, which is being hosted by T.E.A.M. Hockey Country. All participants receive two tickets for the game. Teams are chosen at random from all T.E.A.M. Hockey Country registrants. Minor hockey teams can register for T.E.A.M. Hockey Country for free by visiting www.ottawasenators.com
