REVELSTOKE, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - July 16, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage
Performing arts and culture received a boost today with the announcement of $7,500 of funding, provided through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, to the Revelstoke Arts Council for its 2015/16 Performance Series.
This investment will enable the Council to continue providing Revelstoke's residents and visitors with diverse cultural entertainment. This year's performance series will feature jazz, classical music, ballet, contemporary dance, children's theatre and spoken word performances. The Council will also offer outreach activities, including public talk-backs and workshops.
David Wilks, Member of Parliament (Kootenay-Columbia), made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

- This year's performance series will run from September 2015 through April 2016.
- The performances will be primarily held in the 275-seat Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre, but will also take place in the Community Centre, the United Church and the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre.
- Since 1997, the Revelstoke Arts Council has been a leader in promoting the continued growth of arts and culture in Revelstoke.
