The Stevie Awards Are a Mark of Excellence Within Reach for Spanish Companies

Why Apply for an Award for Excellence in Business

MADRID, SPAIN--(Marketwired - Apr 23, 2013) - Registration is now open for The 2013 International Business Awards(SM) (www.StevieAwards.com/IBA), one of the famous Stevie® Awards competitions. Among the notable companies that won Stevie Awards in 2012 are DHL, Ford Motor Company, Siemens, and Visa. But there were dozens of notable smaller companies and emerging entrepreneurs who were also recognized. Many of the latter came from obscurity to win a reputation that now is helping them to explore new markets. Winning a Stevie Award isn't just an aspiration for multinational companies.

Organizations and individuals can nominate themselves in any of more than 200 categories for innovation, creativity, business performance, marketing, public relations, new products, human resources, websites and apps, technology, and more. Each category can have Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners. The Stevie trophies are made by the same company that makes the Oscar and other major awards.

"The International Business Awards, also known as the 'International Stevie Awards,' provide opportunities for recognition for businesses of all types and sizes," said international consultant Martha Hooper. The specialist, who specializes in promoting these and other awards, also helps companies to apply in the categories where they have the best chance of success. She continued, "Spain has had a number of Stevie Award winners over the years, but I'm surprised that Spain hasn't had an even greater presence in The International Business Awards. Spanish companies are known for their innovation and high-performance. Spanish product and service quality reaches many markets. I think there's an opportunity for Spanish companies to win a lot of international recognition in the IBAs this year."

Winning international awards, says Hooper, are part of a virtuous circle that favors many aspects of managing a business: "Winning awards has great benefits, beyond putting a nice golden statuette in a conspicuous place in the office. Third-party recognition motivates staff, has a positive impact on productivity, supports the work of human resources in areas such as retention and recruitment, favors the marketing of products and service, positions the company to shareholders and stakeholders to facilitate investment and support, and delivers marketing inputs so you can develop a dynamic campaign, among other benefits."

Because the 2013 IBA awards gala will take place in Barcelona in October, all organizations in Spain may submit an unlimited number of entries this year without having to pay the entry fees that are typically U.S. $300 to $500. This is a one-time opportunity for Spanish companies. Entries will be accepted through June 12.

Nominations can be submitted online, in Spanish or English, at www.StevieAwards.com/IBA

Last October, organizations from more than 40 nations received Stevie Award recognition during the awards banquet in Seoul, South Korea. In 2013 the awards banquet will be in Barcelona, Spain. Complete lists of past winners of Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Awards are at www.StevieAwards.com/IBA.

Understanding the entry system, meeting the entry requirements, and understanding how to apply is essential when pursuing an international award. Martha Hooper, marketing representative of the Stevie Awards in Spain (www.hooperconsultinginternational.com) knows this, and provides a consultancy service to applicants to any international award (English or Spanish speaking) that ensures optimal applications that deliver applicants a success rate of 75%.
