The Strike is Postponed at CPRail

OTTAWA, OTTAWA--(Marketwire - Nov. 19, 2007) - Sunday, November 18, 2007, Teamsters Canada Rail Conference, representing all running trades employees at CP Rail, announced today that their members have failed to ratify a tentative new five year contract. The current Collective Agreement expired December 31, 2006 and applies to approximately 4500 locomotive engineers, conductors and assistant conductors employed in road and yard service at Canadian Pacific Railway.

The failure to ratify has resulted in an agreement between the parties to postpone any strike or lockout notice until Saturday, November 24, 2007, to allow the parties to meet to explore the possibilities of a negotiated settlement.
