The Structure Group® Announces New Gas Transaction Management System at GasMart

Structure nMarket® Is First Transaction Management Platform to Offer Out-of-Box Integration With Pipelines

DENVER, CO and HOUSTON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 3, 2006 -- The Structure Group®, an industry leader in consulting and software for major energy market operators and participants, announced today the general release of Structure nMarket® Gas. The announcement was made at a special press briefing at the 2006 GasMart Conference in Denver. Building on the success of Structure nMarket Power -- the leading transaction management system for North American wholesale power markets -- the new gas system is reported to be the first packaged software product that is pre-configured to comply with specific pipeline transaction standards.

"To the best of our knowledge, no other gas management product offers pipeline integration for nominations, scheduled quantities, allocation/balancing statements, and invoices -- all pre-configured, out of the box," said Lisa Blackwood, Head of North American Consulting for The Structure Group. "Many purport NAESB compliance -- but have not modeled each pipeline's unique implementation of the transactions. In addition, nMarket Gas has bi-directional integration capabilities with all the major trading, scheduling, risk and accounting systems.

"Structure nMarket contains all the rate sets for all pipeline services as well as negotiated rates," Blackwood added. "It also supports shadowing of pipeline invoices. This is something that gas accountants have not focused on in the past due to the lack of available software tools to automate this process, and the demands of simply supporting volume management and counter-party settlement."

Structure nMarket Gas is currently being deployed at one of North America's largest wholesale gas suppliers. According to that company, the considerable variation in transaction standards from pipeline to pipeline has resulted in costly allocation of resources for custom software development and maintenance. nMarket Gas will allow the company to standardize on a single software platform across multiple pipelines without the need to custom configure transactions for each individual pipeline and tightly integrate with their new energy trading/scheduling applications. The product presently supports 15 pipelines in North America and has been successfully tested in the pipeline test beds as part of the company's deployment schedule. Structure will roll out a number of more pipelines by the end of 2006. In total, plans are to support approximately 200 interstate and intrastate pipelines within the next two years.
