Century Group today unveiled plans for "3 Civic Plaza" - the tallest tower south of the Fraser and home to the first mixed-use hotel and residential project in Surrey City Centre. Standing at an impressive 517 feet (50 storeys), the tower will be the fifth tallest in the Lower Mainland.

3 Civic Plaza is a partnership between Century Group and Surrey City Development Corporation (SCDC) and will further Surrey's vision for the creation of a vibrant and lively transit-oriented City Centre. The project will feature a premium boutique hotel called the Civic Hotel. Surrey's first new high rise hotel in two decades, Civic Hotel will boast 160 guest rooms, include meeting spaces to accommodate over 300 people, and will be backed by an international reservation system.

Approximately 330 residential units will be located above the hotel, and will have some of the most impressive views of Surrey City Centre and the region beyond.

Located in the heart of Surrey City Centre, 3 Civic Plaza will join the City Centre Library and the new Surrey City Hall in activating a Civic Plaza as an outdoor living space. In addition to its premier location, 3 Civic Plaza's proximity to Surrey Central Station will provide guests and residents with SkyTrain access and convenience to the rest of the region as they enjoy life in Surrey's new urban hub.

"3 Civic Plaza is a great example of how change, innovation and collaborative partnerships will help bring our vision for Surrey City Centre to life," says Dianne Watts, Mayor of Surrey. "Projects like these will help us create vibrant, livable, sustainable communities and prepare Surrey for growth in the coming years."

The project joins other developments that are reinforcing investment in Surrey City Centre such as Simon Fraser University's Surrey campus, the soon-to-open RCMP E-Division and the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre.

"We are thrilled to be launching 3 Civic Plaza today as we recognize the importance of furthering the development of Surrey's emerging City Centre," says Sean Hodgins, President of Century Group. "Investing in the new Surrey City Centre is essential to create the conditions for success - the kind of place we can all be proud to call home."

"Century Group shares our commitment to sustainable projects that promote economic vitality," says Jim Cox, President and CEO of Surrey City Development Corporation. "This is the type of project that demonstrates the positive impact that SCDC's business partnerships can make in our community."

Residential sales for 3 Civic Plaza will begin in October of 2012 with project completion expected in Fall 2015.
