The Trade Desk Ranked #9 in Outside Magazine's Best Places to Work 2015

Ranked 7th Among Advertising and Media Companies, This Is The Trade Desk's Second Consecutive Year of Recognition

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 18, 2015) - The Trade Desk, Inc., a global demand-side platform in real-time bidding, today announced that it has been selected for the second year in a row as one of Outside Magazine's 100 Best Places to Work 2015. Each year, the magazine recognizes the top 100 companies in the United States that help their employees strike the ideal balance between work and play. These companies encourage employees to lead an active lifestyle, are eco-conscious, and prioritize giving back to the community. This year, Outside recognized The Trade Desk in the top ten, ranking the company's culture ninth in the nation and seventh among Advertising and Media companies.

"The engineer who could easily write code 12 hours a day will have a better life and better job satisfaction if I encourage him to go hiking," said The Trade Desk's CEO Jeff Green in Outside's write-up. "I think the millennial generation may be our greatest working generation. But in order to motivate them, you have to give them a sense of meaning and purpose."

The magazine continued: "The Southern California-based Trade Desk, which was founded in 2009, is pioneering a new model of online advertising by helping agencies buy and manage display and social media campaigns online. Trade Desk's offices are a few blocks from world-class surf, and the CTO has a telescope in his office offering a prime view of conditions. The office also offers surfboard storage, balance boards to relieve stress, and even the occasional taco party. Green says the focus on the outdoors and the environment is key to how employees stay happy."

"The companies recognized in this year's Best Places to Work list are the gold standard for stellar work environments that seek to empower their employees both in and out of the office," said Outside Online Editor Scott Rosenfield. "The new categories in this year's list serve to highlight outstanding workplaces in distinctive fields -- making it all the easier for our readers to find their dream jobs."

To find the best places to work in the United States in 2015, Outside started by creating five company categories that reflect the magazine's values and focus: Adventure/Travel, Wellness, Culture, Gear and Media. Outside then conducted a rigorous vetting process in partnership with the Best Companies Group to assess the policies, practices, and demographics of hundreds of companies. Outside's Best Places to Work 2015 was driven by employee reviews of their workplaces, taking into account factors like corporate culture, role satisfaction, work environment and overall employee engagement. The Best Places to Work list represents the cream of the crop: companies that are empowering their employees to live bigger, better lives.
