The Used and Renowned Video Director Kevin Kerslake Team Up to Shoot "I Caught Fire"

Song Is Third Single From Sophomore Release, "In Love And Death" -- The Used Also Announce Headline Tour to Begin Late Summer and International Taste Of Chaos Dates in October

BURBANK, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 27, 2005 -- Reprise Records' The Used are headed back to Los Angeles Wednesday to begin work with renowned director Kevin Kerslake (Nirvana, Rolling Stones, Prince, Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers). Kerslake has been tapped to direct the band's next video (and single), "I Caught Fire," from their sophomore album, "In Love And Death." With Kerslake, the band will tackle topic matter such as primordial passions and the shadowy and moody subject of first love. Through sexy vignettes and story telling, the audience will watch couples evoke the romantic abandon of the song's lyrics.

"In Love And Death" was released late last year to critical acclaim and much fanfare. The album is a musical powerhouse that placed The Used squarely on the top of a genre they helped create several years prior. The RIAA certified the album Gold over the winter, after already yielding two radio hits, "Take It Away" and the current smash "All That I've Got." "I Caught Fire" looks to continue that trend. The album was recently re-released with a cover version of the David Bowie, Freddie Mercury classic "Under Pressure." The Used's Bert McCracken, along with My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way, perform the duet which previously received a lot of attention through an exclusive arrangement with iTunes. In that arrangement, proceeds from downloads of the track benefited South Asia tsunami relief. A portion of future album sales will benefit the same through the Music For Relief organization.

This past winter marked the debut of a phenomenal new tour package in the U.S. called The Taste Of Chaos, which was anchored by The Used. The tour was the brainchild of Kevin Lyman (producer of the Vans Warped Tour over the past decade), John Reese of Freeze Management (a Southern California-based management powerhouse), and Darryl Eaton of Creative Artist Agency. The success of the tour in the States has led to a international version of The Taste Of Chaos, which The Used will be headlining starting in October, hitting Australia, Japan, the UK, and Germany, with Killswitch Engage, Story Of The Year, Funeral For A Friend and Rise Against.

But first, in late summer, The Used hit the road again in the States bringing out close buddies Glassjaw and 30 Seconds To Mars (see dates below):
