The Virtual Reality Foundation Announces VRLA School

360Heros to Teach Educational Workshops on VR filmmaking

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 16, 2016) - Following the massively successful VRLA Winter Expo in January, The Virtual Reality Foundation announced VRLA School, a monthly series of educational workshops and speaker sessions led by experts in VR and AR.

"Education is very important in growing the size and quality of the immersive technology community," said Christian Falstrup, co-founder of VRLA School. "High-quality consumer VR is just around the corner, which makes now the perfect time to start this program."

The inaugural workshop will take place on Saturday, February 27th, where cinematic VR pioneers 360Heros and their CEO Michael Kintner will teach attendees how to become VR filmmakers. Attendees will learn about each phase of their live action VR pipeline including capturing 360 video, importing and managing files, and stitching video with Autopano and VideoStitch.

Due to popular demand, VRLA School will be holding a second workshop on Sunday, February 28th, since tickets to the first workshop sold out in under five hours! Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Wednesday, February 17th.

"We're really excited to work with 360Heros on our inaugural workshop because of their deep expertise in 360 video," said Cosmo Scharf, co-founder of The Virtual Reality Foundation. "The event will serve as an intimate environment for learning new skills and meeting new people in the live action VR space."

Both beginner/intermediate level workshops will be hosted from 8:30am to 2:30pm at Village Workspaces, a beautiful new co-working space and burgeoning VR hub in West LA. VRLA School is made possible through the support of The Virtual Reality Foundation's marquee sponsor, AMD.
