The Weather Channel Signs Major Support Agreement With Transparent Technologies

Transparent Technologies to provide 24x7 Technical and Operational Support Services

Transparent Technologies, Inc. (TTi) ( has reached an agreement with The Weather Channel (TWC) to provide 24x7 technical and operational support services for their Star® hardware platforms. TWC's Star platforms are located in 9,000 head-end facilities across the U.S.

TTi's success with system integration for The Weather Channel contributed to the addition of this expanded service offering.

"By outsourcing our hardware integration and support services to TTi we were able to improve quality of service, time to market and enable The Weather Channel to more effectively focus on our core competencies," says The Weather Channel's CIO Brian Shield. The Weather Channel has been a long-time partner with Transparent Technologies. In 2002, The Weather Channel outsourced system integration for its Intellistar® and XL platforms to TTi. In 2005, they added backchannel support.
