The Wine School Presents the Sommelier Smackdown at Prime Rib Restaurant

Two Top Wine Professionals Compete to Create the Perfect Food and Wine Pairing; You Decide the Winner

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - May 19, 2008) - The Sommelier Smackdown is the Wine School's signature Wine and Food Pairing competition. Begun in 2007, it has featured some of the city's finest sommeliers and wine professionals. The audience gets to sample each of the pairings and vote for the winner.

On Tuesday, June 10, 6:00 - 7:00 PM
Founder Keith Wallace vs. Sommelier Instructor Brian Freedman
Prime Rib Restaurant, 1701 Locust Street, Philadelphia

This evening is a special one-hour, pre-dinner Smackdown at one of the best restaurants in the city -- The Prime Rib. Keith Wallace, founder of the Wine School, will compete against Brian Freedman, its Director of Education. Over the course of an hour, you will taste two courses and four wine pairings, and learn more than you ever thought possible in a single hour. Plus, there will be special deals if you decide to stay for dinner. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday night!

This highly praised series has fast become one of Philadelphia's go-to events. Zagat called it Philadelphia's "latest hot culinary competition," and founder Keith Wallace has hinted that they will just keep getting tougher. Look forward to future Smackdowns taking place in some of Philly's hot spots, as well as special guests hailing from out-of-town. And then some.
