The World's Best Theme Parks-Which One Would You Choose?

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Nov. 6, 2012) - There are many famous theme parks all over the world ranging from Disneyland in Orlando to Germany's Europa Park. These theme parks have and continue to entertain and captivate children and adults alike.

Virgin Money Travel Insurance takes a look at some of the most popular theme parks in the world at the moment. Which one would you choose? Would it be different to the one chosen by your children?

Let the kids pick their favourite, and once you've organised your family travel insurance, off you go.

Tokyo DisneySea, Japan

Tokyo DisneySea is home to an elaborate nautical theme which is both enchanting and impressive. The entire site is water-orientated, meaning you won't find the customary castle lining the park's landscape but that doesn't make it any less magical. With seven themed 'ports of call', including Mediterranean Harbour (a Venetian inspired area), Port Discovery (with a stimulating science theme), and Mermaid Lagoon (based on Disney's The Little Mermaid), you won't find a Disney park like this anywhere else in the world.

Busch Gardens, USA

With two amusement parks in America, one located in Tampa Bay, Florida and the other in Williamsburg, Virginia, Busch Gardens offers an exhilarating combination of thrilling rides and down-to-earth fun. Busch Gardens celebrates both the traditional and new that theme parks offer which is apparent in everything from the park's charming European village to the slick and modern white knuckle rides. In Tampa, African wildlife also plays a huge role, where elephants, zebras, and rhinos roam freely over 29 acres of land.

Europa Park, Germany

The largest theme park in Germany, Europa Park is situated in Germany's south-west. It is split into fifteen different areas, each representing a European country or region, with rides and attractions themed around the culture of that country. Russia will take you on a mission through space, whilst Scandinavia offers a rapid ride around fjord-esque caverns and waterfalls, and England speeds visitors off around a Silverstone inspired race track. Not only are the rides world-class, but the park has also gained recognition for the delicious food on offer too.

Other parks worth a look...

Everland, South Korea. The largest in the country, Everland is home to a great selection of rides and an animal park that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Discovery Cove, USA. Discovery Cove offers an amazing amount of interaction with animals and no lines and limited admission make it relatively easy to navigate.

Disneyland, Hong Kong. Encompassing Lantau Island, Disneyland Hong Kong follows all the typical Disney traditions but puts a unique Chinese spin on the park's design, even incorporating the rules of feng shui.
