The World's Largest Youth-Led Organization Marks the Earth Day 2016

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Apr 22, 2016) - Today as the world marks the Earth Day 2016, the 46th anniversary of the modern environmental movement started in 1960, and on the day when the Climate Change COP 21 Agreement will be signed by the heads of states at the United Nations, the world's largest youth-led organization AIESEC has a message for the world on behalf of youth globally. To recognize the importance of the Earth Day, especially this year as the world leaders are expected to sign the Paris Agreement on Climate Action, AIESEC is checking in from more than 50 country and territory offices around the world, with promises from youth around the world to make our world a better place by contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

"It doesn't matter the culture, the religion or where we come from -- the Earth is something we all share unanimously. In AIESEC, we understand that the responsibility of taking care of it starts with every single one of us. As the largest youth-led organization with presence in over 126 countries and territories, we strive to reach as many representatives of the largest youth generation in history and inspire them to take action to take care of our planet by daily actions that prove we collectively care; and we invite everyone to take part," says Ana Saldarriaga, the current Global President of AIESEC International.

In partnership with the Asian Development Bank, PVBLIC Foundation, UN Habitat, Plan International and many other partners and supporters, AIESEC has recently launched the campaign Youth for Global Goals (#Youth4GG) to take care of our home, by mobilizing as many young people as possible around the world to contribute to the SDGs. The campaign has been featured widely, including 2,000 screens in Malaysia and the Digital Tower at Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur, inspiring 160,000 youth to voice their opinion about the world in the YouthSpeak Survey and take action on issues that matter to them, in order to positively impact societies.

AIESEC invites you to visit their global Facebook page to watch the video and share your commitment towards making the world a better place, with hashtags #Youth4GG, #EarthDay and #EarthDay2016.
