theUEgroup Designer Brings Silicon Valley Quality Design and Usability Skills Back to Scandinavia

U.S.-Based Firm Opens Office in Stockholm to Be Staffed by Swedish Native

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN--(Marketwire - January 14, 2008) - theUEgroup, a U.S.-based consulting firm specializing in user interface design and usability, announced today that it is expanding its service offering to Scandinavian countries with the opening of a Stockholm office, which will be staffed by native Swede Anna-Karin Söderström. Söderström spent the last two years at theUEgroup working as a Human Factors Designer and completing her thesis in the company's San Jose, California office, in the heart of Silicon Valley. She has now returned to her homeland, creating a local presence for theUEgroup in Sweden and providing direct access for Scandinavian companies to Silicon Valley quality design and usability services.

Söderström was the first to graduate with a Masters from the Arena Media, Music and Technology program specializing in Media Technology and Design at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden. Over the past two years, she has honed her skills in innovative consultative services that span research, design, strategy and concept development at theUEgroup under the guidance and sponsorship of founder, Tony Fernandes who was previously at Silicon Valley icons such as Apple, Netscape and Xerox PARC. Her degree, coupled with her hands-on work experience with several leading U.S.-based clients, make her a valuable resource for Scandinavian companies looking to improve their overall business strategies and user experiences.

"Anna-Karin has been a great asset to our team over the past couple of years, bringing international design training and a drive to learn with top-notch US clients," said Tony Fernandes, founder of theUEgroup. "We are thrilled that she will serve as our European presence and brings with her the type of Silicon Valley innovation and expertise that is needed to make Scandinavian businesses flourish both globally as well as in the US market specifically."

Söderström will provide theUEgroup's services out of the Sweden office for various industries, including web, software, consumer electronics and medical devices. She will serve as a local presence that can provide direct access to usability, design, and design-related patent and IP services for Scandinavian and European companies looking to expand into the US market.
