Their Knees Are Getting Trembly...Sporting Index Traders Geared Up for One of the Busiest Matches Ever

Sporting Index Now Live With Hundreds of Markets on Champions League Final, Including 75 Player Markets And Plenty More to be Offered In-Play

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - May 27, 2011) - Leading spread betting firm Sporting Index are expecting one of the most traded single football matches in their history, when Barcelona take on Manchester United in the Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday. The final of the world's premier club competition is always expected to be a peak period for spread bettors, but the UK location and a Premier League representative for the final has sparked a greater interest than in previous years.

There are 75 markets dedicated to individual players, including 17 solely on star players Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney. Sporting Index are taking no chances on Champions League top scorer Messi who, with 11 goals in the tournament so far, has been given a player goal minutes spread of 27-30 minutes (if he scores in the 16th minute and also in the 70th minute, the market will make-up at 86), set a full 10 minutes higher than teammate David Villa (17-20). Wayne Rooney has the highest goal minutes spread of any Manchester United player, at 12-15. You can also challenge Sporting Index's prediction of the number of minutes Rooney will play (84-86) or the time of Messi's first goal (71-74 minutes) among others.

The Catalan side are favourites for the final with a supremacy of 0.5–0.7 goals. Those who buy (bet higher) will profit from a Barcelona victory in 90 minutes, while those who sell (bet lower) will get a return if the match finishes level or Man Utd win (inside 90 mins). Despite the strike talent at each team's disposal, goals are quoted at 2.25-2.45.

"Everyone is looking forward to a potential stonker between arguably the world's two most successful club sides," comments Sporting Index spokesman Wayne Lincoln. "Our football traders are excited to be taking on our clients in our numerous pre-match and in-play spread markets, but it's fair to say there is a fair bit of trepidation on the trading floor given the likely volumes involved."

It's certainly a busy time for Sporting Index's football traders. Since offering punters over 500 markets for the FA Cup Final, they oversaw another of their busiest periods of the year on the last day of the Premier League season, last Sunday.
