Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex to Undertake a Working Visit to Canada

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 5, 2012) - Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex will undertake a working visit to Canada from September 11 to 18, 2012.

Jointly hosted by a number of regiments and community organizations of which Their Royal Highnesses are patron, the Earl and Countess of Wessex will visit Ontario and Nunavut. Starting in Ottawa, the visit will include stops in Trenton, Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catharines, Midland and Iqaluit.

This will be the Earl's 33rd visit to Canada, and the Countess's 9th visit. However, it marks the very first visit for both to the Canadian Arctic. Their Royal Highnesses' links to Canada are many: they serve as colonels-in-chief to a number of Canadian Forces' regiments, and as patrons of a number of Canadian charitable and community organizations.

In addition to their regular Canadian visits, Their Royal Highnesses regularly travel abroad on behalf of Canadian organizations, and host and participate in Canadian events in the United Kingdom.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex are the youngest son and daughter-in-law of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.

Details of Their Royal Highnesses' public events will be announced by the host organizations and communities at a later date.
