"The economy grew at an annualized 3.8% in the fourth quarter of last year. So estimates for the measure of U.S. growth would put the first quarter of this year only slightly lower. Market watchers have been closely monitoring signs that the U.S. economy may be slowing since the Fed started raising interest rates last year, especially since the Commerce Department reported an unexpected drop in durable goods for March."
