Things Remembered Launches #wordsoflove Campaign to Support Orlando

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - June 16, 2016) - Things Remembered is encouraging healing, unification and love through the power of words in its new #wordsoflove campaign, as well as collecting and matching donations to help the victims, survivors and families of the Orlando shooting.

"For 50 years, we've seen how important words can be at inspiring hope and sharing love. We wanted to encourage our community to express their positive thoughts to the families and each other, and to encourage donations that will go toward counseling, where words can help heal," said Lisa Gavales, CEO and President of Things Remembered.

Things Remembered will be sharing positive messages, quotes and #wordsoflove for Orlando on its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

"Inspirational quotes have been some of out most-shared and liked posts, so we are encouraging our employees, community and families to come together in the spirit of healing and unity to share their own words of love," said Christopher Warnack, VP of Marketing at Things Remembered.

Things Remembered is also reinforcing the power of words by encouraging shoppers to make online donations of $1, $5, $10 or $20 dollars at, while they shop. 100% of contributions will be donated to the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida (The Center), which, along with other central Florida organizations, has been providing an emergency hotline and crisis counseling to survivors and families. Things Remembered will be matching donations up to $5,000 total.
