This Technology Introduces Functionality to Dynamically Insert Ads Into Alternate Content Streams

Industry First Advancement Solidifies This Technology's Leadership Role in Enabling Alternate Content Delivery Associated With Blackouts in Linear IP Environments

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Jun 10, 2013) - THE CABLE SHOW 2013 -- This Technology, Inc. today announced that it has enhanced its Alternate Content Delivery System (ACDS) for managing blackout events to also dynamically insert ads within that alternate content. Available now, the enhanced functionality gives MVPDs and programming networks a complete, scalable solution for supporting blackout requirements and managing end to end alternate content delivery during blackout events. The announcement follows This Technology's $7.5 million Series A financing round and widespread deployments of the company's DAI and ACDS products with leading MVPDs and programming networks.

Content blackouts, which are typically based on local rights associated with the delivery of sporting events, typically direct subscribers in certain media markets or geographic locations to an alternative content stream. Until This Technology debuted its Alternate Content Delivery System last year, MVPDs and programming networks did not have a way to support blackouts and the delivery of alternative content streams in IP linear environments. Enabling the ability to now dynamically insert ads into these streams in full-scale deployments marks another advancement for alternate content delivery and further solidifies This Technology's leading role in the market.

It helps MVPDs support geographic and other area determination policies, as well as enforcement of alternate content event schedules that can be provided by programming networks using a simple provisioning interface.
