Thomas Lee Named to BBJ's 40 Under 40 Class of 2013

451 Marketing Senior Partner Joins Leaders in Boston Business Community on Prestigious List

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2013) - 451 Marketing announced today that Senior Partner Thomas Lee has been recognized as a member of Boston Business Journal's "40 Under 40" class of 2013. This honor recognizes business and civic leaders who collectively represent the next wave of talent and commitment in the Boston economy.

Lee heads up 451 Marketing's public relations practice, a group he launched in 2007 after joining as the agency's third partner. Since then, Lee has helped 451 Marketing grow from a four-person shop into a 60-person national agency with offices in Boston, New York and Los Angeles. The agency's clients include The Yankee Candle Company, BAILEYS Coffee Creamers, Cool Gear International, Annie Selke Companies, HP Hood, Astra Zeneca, and Bob's Discount Furniture.

"I am truly honored to be recognized by the Boston Business Journal and to join such an impressive group of young business leaders," said Lee. "I am proud of what we've been able to accomplish at 451 Marketing over the past six years since I joined my partners AJ Gerritson and Nick Lowe. I look forward to what lies ahead."

Tom has spent much of his time in 2013 launching and building 451 Marketing's Los Angeles office, which has grown quickly to a staff of 10 overseeing a dozen regional and national tech start-up and consumer clients. 2013 also marked the third consecutive year that Lee and 451 Marketing were recognized as a Boston Business Journal Pacesetter, an award recognizing the fastest-growing private companies in Massachusetts.

"Tom and the rest of this year's 40 under 40 class, our 16th, shows that Boston is in good hands with its next generation of leaders," Chris McIntosh, Publisher of the Boston Business Journal. "I look forward to seeing what he and 451 Marketing do in the months and years to come!"

Lee started his career as a reporter working at community newspapers in New Hampshire and Massachusetts before going to work for The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), where at the age of 25, he served as the youngest Press Secretary in the state. While at MWRA, Lee handled multiple high-profile crisis situations earning him a reputation as one of the best in the business. He was later recruited by The Massachusetts Hospital Association following the Harvard Pilgrim healthcare crisis in 2000.

Lee works to support several area non-profits, both financially and through volunteer work, including Merrimack Valley YMCA, Special Olympics of Massachusetts, and Lazarus House. He is also an active member of the Boston Irish Business Association.

Lee will be recognized along with 39 of his peers by the Boston Business Journal at the 16th annual 40 Under 40 Awards gala. The event will take place on the evening of Thursday, October 10th at the International Place Grand Lobby in Boston. For more information and tickets, visit:
