Paris (France) and Barcelona (Spain) - February 12, 2007 - Thomson (Euronext 18453; NYSE; TMS) will be making important announcements on its mobility solutions this week at 3GSM. Projects with new clients for Thomson's mobile TV and fixed mobile convergence solutions will be unveiled and new innovative products for mobility will be launched, with a special focus on fixed mobile convergence, mobile IP centrex and mobile TV.

New agreements

SFR selects Thomson's voice switches for Fixed Mobile Convergence

SFR, the leading French mobile operator, has selected Thomson's Cirpack switches with Mobile IP Centrex capabilities to offer advanced business telephony features with fixed mobile convergence to enterprise users. SFR is one of Europe's largest mobile operators with a customer base of 17.8 million subscribers, has selected Thomson's Cirpack voice switches with Mobile IP Centrex to provide a full set of voice services over converged Mobile/IP networks. This is one of the largest ever deployments of fixed mobile convergence, a field where Thomson has already proven its technical leadership following announcements of other projects last year.

Thomson's Mobile TV solutions used by 3GSM's official broadcaster, Abertis Telecom

Thomson's head end equipment and TV Mobility video services platform are being used by Abertis Telecom, Spain's largest telecommunications group, for digital video broadcast of GSM coverage and live channels to mobile handsets during 3GSM in Barcelona from 12 to 15 February. Albertis will use Thomson's Grass Valley Opal IP encapsulators, Argos H264 mobile encoders, Jade ESG servers and SmartVision Mobile TV service platform.

Thomson Provides Orange with a DECT Phone with HD Sound for Wireless VoIP

Thomson has been selected by Orange to provide its Livephone, a wireless IP DECT phone with HD sound. The Livephone offered by Orange is specifically targeted at VoIP users already equipped with the Livebox residential gateway, also developed by Thomson and of which more than 4 million units in Europe have already been deployed.

Thomson launches the 3G Femtocell for fixed mobile convergence in the home or office

The 3G Femtocell is one of the innovative new range of residential products that Thomson will be launching in 2007. The 3G Femtocell will allow residential broadband connections to provide high quality fixed mobile convergence services over licensed 3G spectrum in the home or office, at reduced costs. This will allow quadruple play operators to better integrate their offerings in the home and create new innovative data services

Grass Valley Enhances Multi-Channel MPEG-4 Encoder for Mobile TV Applications

Good image quality is essential to the success of mobile television services and the enhanced Grass Valley Argos H264 mobile encoder from Thomson delivers multi-channel MPEG-4 encoding with excellent performance at a lower cost per channel than competitive solutions. The Argos mobile encoder provides the complete signal processing, compression, scrambling and delivery functionality in a single device, it is a highly cost-effective platform for mobile operators.

New Model Opal DVB-H Encapsulator for Large-Scale Mobile TV Implementations

Thomson is launching a new version of its Grass Valley Opal IP encapsulator, with a functionality tailored for mobile television services broadcast over the DVB-H standard. The special time slicing feature allows local and regional content to be added to national services, opening up new commercial possibilities for service providers, content wholesalers and network operators.
