with Multiple Advanced Services

New Portfolio Stresses the Importance of the Gateway as the Delivery Platform of Choice for Multimedia and Entertainment Services

Paris, France and Hanover, Germany, 15 March, 2007 - Thomson (Euronext 18453; NYSE: TMS) today announced the introduction of an array of innovative platforms and devices designed to help operators enhance the breadth of multimedia and entertainment services they can offer to their customers.

"We are committed to helping our customer base deploy the very best and innovative of broadband services as broadly as possible. To drive the mass market uptake of VoIP, IPTV and such applications, our clients need flexible, plug-and-play and future- proof integration of services. Satisfying this need and beyond, Thomson is delighted to be launching at CeBIT yet further advances in its ecosystem of innovative devices around the broadband residential gateway to the benefit of our service provider customers and their consumers alike," said Bruno Fabre, Vice President of Thomson's Premises Systems Business Unit.

Highlights at CeBIT 2007 include:

Portable WiFi® Multimedia Device

Thomson's new residential wireless multimedia portable device is designed to help provide customers with a multi-room IPTV, video on demand and broadband entertainment experience, without the need to deploy multiple set-top boxes and associated cabling or for the customer to own a PC. Beyond video, it also enables users to enjoy other advanced services: it can be used as a wireless music player to share music from any source, a digital picture frame to display your favourite pictures and also as a display for RSS feeds (MyInfoKiosk service for weather forecasts, news, sport...). The device is also able to access other multimedia content, including music, photos and video, on devices that are also connected to the broadband gateway, such as a multimedia PC or digital video recorder, and further value-added services can be added through software updates over the air.

Thomson is in talks with a number of operators looking to deploy the product and expects shipments to begin in H2 2007.

The World's First Combined VoIP DECT Phone and Internet Radio, T2007

The way consumers listen to and access music is rapidly changing due to digitalization and dematerialization and the growing uptake in Internet radio is just one such example. The world's first residential VoIP DECT telephone handset, the T2007, enables operators to offer residential customers wireless Internet telephony and innovative music services. Combining a high quality cordless phone with built-in stereo speakers for direct access to Internet radio stations, the handset also functions as a portable IP radio for the home without the need for a PC.

Thomson is in talks with a number of operators looking to deploy the product and expects shipments to begin in H2 2007.

New Range of VoIP DECT Phones with HD Sound and RSS Feeds Features

Comprising three models, this new range of VoIP DECT telephone handsets boasts HD (High Definition) sound software, allowing operators to deliver higher quality voice over IP conversations as well as support for multiple line and multiple number scenarios. From entry level to high-end, this portfolio enables operators to offer a number of different Internet telephony subscription packages for residential customers.

The higher end TH15HD phone, for example, is designed not only for IP telephony with HD Sound but also as an interface for Internet- based consumer information - called My Infokiosk - such as weather, news and local services directories using RSS feeds, providing consumers with useful information without the need for a PC and web browser.

New Business Gateways Establish Market Firsts

Thomson's new business gateways - the ST620 3G router and the TG780 business gateway - combine feature sets which make them unique on their respective markets and enable operators to offer their professional customers even more advanced business services.

New Residential Gateways for Very High Broadband and Next Generation Services

Thomson's new residential gateways complete a portfolio which supports very high broadband for any type of network and connectivity. The VDSL2 gateways enable operators to offer triple play services - such as high quality digital video streams, high- speed Internet access, and voice services, whilst the fiber gateways enable operators to leverage the potential of fiber to the home (FTTH) for especially bandwidth-hungry applications (e.g. IPTV and HDTV). Rounding off the range, the WiFi gateways offer high-speed access and service improvements for n-play services over wireless.
