For its 10th anniversary, 13ème RUE launches a HD channel available via CanalSat/TPS in France

PARIS, November 15th 2007 - Thomson (Euronext: 18453 ; NYSE: TMS) today announced that it has served as a technology services partner to NBC Universal Global Networks, via its TV channel 13ème RUE, since the channel's launch 10 years ago. 13ème RUE is a "premiere" for Universal studio, as it is the first TV channel launched directly in France by Universal.

To celebrate its anniversary, 13ème RUE has launched its new HD channel exclusively available on CanalSat/TPS. Thomson, through its Technicolor Network Services business in France, provides technical content preparation, management and distribution services that enable this new HD channel distribution. 13ème RUE thus becomes the first TV channel to broadcast in native HD, i.e. content directly filmed in HD.

Supplying its services to 13ème RUE from the beginning, Thomson provides to this TV channel, part of the Universal group, end-to-end technical operations and manages technical support. Thomson provides all services, enabling 13ème RUE's programs preparation, treatment and distribution.

Ten years after its launch by NBC Universal in France, 13ème RUE became one of the first cable and satellite TV channels. It is now broadcast in European countries such as Spain, Germany and the Benelux nations.

Sci-Fi, another TV channel belonging to NBC Universal and for which Thomson also provides technical and broadcast support services, will be broadcast in HD in 2008.
