ThoughtWorks and CAST to Host Webinar on Taking Agile Enterprise-Wide

Experts in Agile Development and Software Quality Discuss How to Adopt Agile on Core Business Systems to Improve Productivity, Quality and Business Outcomes

NEW YORK, NY and CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - September 20, 2010) -  ThoughtWorks, a pioneer in Agile-based systems development, and CAST, Inc., the worldwide leader in software analysis and measurement, will co-host a webinar to discuss the elevation of Agile Development for enterprise-wide use and how to measure and analyze the development process to ensure the quality of the resulting software product. The webinar will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 12:00 p.m. EDT.

A report from Forrester earlier this year indicated Agile adoption continues to increase as users have more than doubled over the last four years, while the number of those who have "never heard of" it has declined at an even more rapid rate. In response to the growing buzz around Agile Development, the webinar will center around the impact on business agility, how to maximize developer productivity and how to optimize software quality. Leading the discussion are two experts in the fields of Agile Development and Software Quality, Rebecca Parsons, CTO at ThoughtWorks and Dr. Bill Curtis, the Chief Scientist at CAST, Inc.

  • Rebecca Parsons, CTO, ThoughtWorks: Recently recognized as one of the Most Influential Women in Technology in 2010 by Fast Company, she was described as "one of the world's most sought-after sources of innovation." A catalyst of innovation and growth for ThoughtWorks since joining the firm in 1999, Parsons' leadership role with ThoughtWorks is underscored by 30 years of experience in the software industry and as an assistant professor of computer science at the University of Central Florida.

  • Dr. Bill Curtis, Chief Scientist, CAST, Inc.: An industry luminary, Curtis is best known for leading development of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM), which has become the global standard for evaluating the capability of software development organizations. Currently director of the Consortium for IT Software Quality (CISQ), Curtis previously directed the Software Process Program at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. Curtis also recently was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for his contributions to software process improvement and measurement.
