Threadflip Launches Same Day Processing, Introducing On Demand to Online Consignment

A Key Competitive Advantage, Same Day Processing Will Strengthen the Platform's Full Service Offering, Creating a Managed Marketplace in Which Items Sell Quickly

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - May 19, 2015) - Threadflip, the social marketplace for pre-loved women's clothing, is announcing the launch of same day processing for Full Service sellers -- items received by Threadflip will be listed on its site in twenty-four hours -- setting the industry standard as the only online platform bringing On Demand to consignment.

Full Service allows sellers to order a large prepaid kit, fill the box with items for sale and send back to the company to upload, manage sales and ship. With same day processing, upon receiving the items, Threadflip will style, photograph, price and begin managing sales and shipping in under twenty-four hours.

"We are rolling out our trusted On Demand online marketplace across the board because it tops our consignors' priorities and we received overwhelmingly positive feedback on a limited test we conducted," said Manik Singh, CEO and co-founder of Threadflip. "With same day processing, we are expanding on taking the hassle out of the selling process by minimizing the time spent between getting items out of sellers' closets and getting them paid faster than anybody else."

In order to lead the pack in customer service and create a fully managed, On Demand marketplace, Threadflip has moved its inventory into a processing center five times the size of its previous facility, increasing efficiency by 300%. The processing operation is broken down into sections of special teams -- designed to support the handling of hundreds of thousands of unique skus -- including dedicated buyers and merchandisers, in-house authenticators responsible solely for completing daily appraisals of high value items, professional photographers and stylists with access to in-house studios and customer support.

To date, Threadflip has raised $21.1M from Shasta Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Baseline Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, Lowercase Capital, Slow Ventures and First Round Ventures. For more information, please visit www.threadflip.com.
