REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 14, 2015) - ThreatStream®, the leading provider of an enterprise-class threat intelligence platform, today announced that ThreatStream (@threatstream) Vice President of Research, Jason Trost, and Senior Threat Researcher, Aaron Shelmire, will present research on an adversarial view of the free and widely-used SaaS malware sandboxes at BSides Washington, D.C. (@BsidesDC). The session, entitled "An Adversarial View of SaaS Malware Sandboxes," will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 2:30 p.m. - 3:20 p.m. ET.

"Malware analysis is a small piece of a threat researcher's job responsibility, but the value in detecting and preventing crippling malware from entering networks through the use of sandboxes cannot be emphasized enough," said Jason Trost, vice president of threat research, ThreatStream. "The conversations that take place in this session will arm listeners with hints, tips and tricks to both enhance their organization's overall security posture and improve the quality of threat intelligence made available by the tools already at their disposal."

Trost and Shelmire will discuss the top sandbox providers available on the market, concerns around tipping adversaries off when running malware in a sandbox, how malware and indicators of compromise (IOCs) submitted to sandboxes propagate to security companies and threat intelligence feeds plus more.
