Veteran Sports Photographer Andrew D. Bernstein Available for Interviews, Stories

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - February 1, 2011) - Bird, Magic, Kobe and Jordan have all been photographed by veteran sports photographer Andrew D. Bernstein. With a 29-year career as Senior Director of Photography for the NBA, Andrew D. Bernstein has seen and photographed all of the excitement both on and off the court.

His work has contributed to the catapulting of NBA's rising superstars into the limelight. Three million NBA photographs have been captured by Bernstein and have been published in hundreds of magazines around the globe. With 28 years of NBA Finals under his belt, he has covered the most NBA Finals of any photographer. Beyond just an NBA photographer, Bernstein has traveled extensively around the world to lend his unique style of photography to the top tier of athletes in every sport.

Says Kobe Bryant in an excerpt by David Davis in the January/February 2009 issue of Lakers Magazine of Bernstein, "He's one of the most influential people in the league because he's giving you a real glimpse of what happens in the NBA and what a lot of NBA superstars go through to prepare for games. It's intimate moments that he collects. Other photographers just take photos. He takes moments."

In a recent project, Bernstein and Lakers Hall of Fame Coach Phil Jackson teamed up in an unprecedented collaboration to create a documentary photo book -- Journey to the Ring: Behind the Scenes with the 2010 NBA Champions (Time Capsule Press/$35.00).

Like many of the professional athletes he photographs, Andrew D. Bernstein is recognized as an All-Star in his respective field. Since 1983, Andrew D. Bernstein Associates has photographed and developed a unique personal rapport with the world's leading professional athletes. Bernstein's work frequently appears in magazines such as Sports Illustrated, ESPN, The Sporting News, Time, Newsweek and more.

Recent projects involved photographic coverage of the 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2008 United States Olympic basketball teams and advertising campaigns featuring some of the world's top athletes for Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Pepsi, Coca-Cola and Icy Hot.

Bernstein is one of only four photographers whose work was selected for permanent exhibit in the media wing of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA.
