Three Japanese Refineries Remain Offline, an Industrial Info News Alert

KOFU-SHI, JAPAN--(Marketwire - March 23, 2011) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources East Asia (Kofu-shi, Japan) -- Cosmo Oil Company Limited's (TYO:5007) (Tokyo) 220,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery suffered a fire following a magnitude 5 shock wave originating from Japan's March 11 earthquake. As of 10:10 p.m. JST Saturday, March 19, Cosmo announced that the fire had been completely extinguished. The company will begin an investigation as soon as possible to determine the extent of the damage. Currently, Cosmo has no restart date, but believes it will take at least two months before it can begin the process.
