Thunder Bay's Starts Decline in the First Quarter

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 11, 2012) - According to preliminary data released today by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), Thunder Bay's four single-detached starts in the first quarter were only one half the eight units built last year during the first three months.

"Despite warm weather in the past month, March's one single-detached start coupled with three other starts earlier in 2012 left Thunder Bay totals for the quarter half the five year average for singles of eight units," said Warren Philp, CMHC's Northern Ontario Market Analyst.
