Thunderbird Drills 2nd Well at Gordon Creek

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 29, 2007) - Thunderbird Energy Corp. (TSX VENTURE:TBD) (the "Company") today announced that it has completed drilling and logging the GCS 3-20-14-8 well at the Gordon Creek natural gas prospect, Utah. The GCS 3-20 well intersected the target Ferron Formation, which was intercepted at roughly the same depths as the neighboring GCS 2-29-14-8 well. Thunderbird owns a 100% working interest in both wells.

The Ferron is a cretaceous aged fluvial deltaic formation consisting of a sequence interbedded sands, shale, and coals. The Ferron is productive throughout Gordon Creek and has produced nearly 1 TCF of gas at the adjacent Drunkard's Wash gas field owned by Conoco Phillips.

Overall, the logs at the GCS 1-30 well look very similar to the GCS 2-29 well with 3 apparent, well developed sand targets. Again, these logs are consistent with and comparable to other commercial wells at Gordon Creek. Production casing has been set, the rig has been released and the well has been prepared for completion operations.

Drilling is well underway at the 3rd well in the program, the GCS 1- 30-14-8 well, in which Thunderbird holds a 50% working interest. Surface casing has been set at 2000 feet and the well will be drilling ahead to its target depth of 3900 feet over the next few days.

A service rig has been contracted and completion operations will commence within 48 hours, starting with the GCS 2-29. The completion protocol for the Ferron formation wells at Gordon Creek calls for perforating and acidizing the target pay zones.

"We are very encouraged by the results to date," stated Mike Worthington, Thunderbird's Vice-President of Operations. "We have had numerous gas shows and very good logs. We are eagerly awaiting the results from the upcoming completion operations."

Thunderbird anticipates providing further updates as drilling progresses over the next month.
