Thunderbird Energy Corp.: 7th Kansas Well a Success

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - March 20, 2007) - Thunderbird Energy Corp. (TSX VENTURE:TBD) ("Thunderbird") announced today that it has successfully completed drilling (50% WI) the #1 Oliverius well, which is the 7th well in its Rush County, Kansas light oil project. Drill stem tests and logs indicate that the well is very similar to the #1 Tammen well drilled earlier in the program, which has turned out to be one of the field's best producers so far. The #1 Tammen has been on line for over 2 months and is currently producing 50 bbls/day after initially flowing 120 bbls/day. Successful Arbuckle wells in the region typically produce 20 to 40 bbls/day during the initial year of production and will produce over 60,000 barrels during a 15+ year life.

"We continue to be extremely pleased with our Kansas operation, having now drilled 5 successful wells out of 7" stated Cameron White, President of Thunderbird Energy Corp. "We have a number of additional potential locations to drill and will use the information we have gained so far to determine our next steps."

Thunderbird Energy is a Canadian based oil and gas company that owns a 50% interest in the Gordon Creek producing natural gas field in the Carbon County, Utah and a 50% interest in the Kansas light oil project. Thunderbird's other holdings include a New Brunswick oil and gas exploration project adjacent to the Stoney Creek field.
